Why do some users appear in both the Indirect Opens Count and the Direct Opens Count?

On the Messages dashboard, you can drill in to a list of users that opened a notification directly or indirectly via the Messages table:


Types of Attributed Opens

  • direct open occurs when a user taps a notification.
  • An indirect open occurs when a user opens an app after receiving a notification.

The count is based on the time range filter that is chosen.

A user will appear in both lists when the user taps on a notification (counted as a direct open), and then at a later time opens the app (counted as an indirect open).
