Alternate ways to resolve the P12 certificate issue?

We developed app using Urban Airship by using our developer account. To move the app into production, client is not interested to share the p12 files due to security reasons.

We have some doubts like

1.)If client upload p12 files by using our Urban Airship account. Is there any option to download it later?

2.)How secure is the P12 file is? Is the p12 file downloadable from Urban Airship account?

Please share any other options available to overcome this issue.

  • Hi Sudhir,

Thank you for writing in to Urban Airship Technical Support with your concern with Apple .p12 certificates.

Our .p12 files are kept very secure. Once they are uploaded, they cannot be accessed or downloaded from our system. The only option is to delete them after they have been uploaded.

If your client is not comfortable sharing the .p12, we do offer a feature called Team Access on our Essential account plan types that may help. This allows your team to create the app on your account then assign out Team Access roles to other people. This would potentially help because you could assign the client a Team Access Administrator role which would allow them to log into the dashboard and upload the .p12 file on their side. Please see the links below for additional information about our plan types and our Team Access feature:

Please let us know if this information helps.

    Thanks,

    Misty
