Send email when app is not re-install?

Hi All,

We want to send email to users when app is not re-install.
Is there any Re-Install event?

Use Case:
If user not re-install our APP in x days once user uninstalled our APP.
In this situation we lose the users so we want engage the users who are not re-install our APP.

  • Hi Chnakaya,

Similar to the lack of install feedback on iOS and Android, there is no reinstall event.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

    Thank you,

  • Hi Chnakaya, you would have to implement this kind of detection on your backend.

Once you receive feedback that an app is in an uninstalled state, you would schedule an API call on that channel ID in X days to check if it is still uninstalled.

You can accomplish this through the Channel Lookup Endpoint of our API.

  • Hi Sean Colin,

once the app is un-install the channel id is InActive , If I re-install the app in same device the status of existing channel id will not be update and it is creating new channel id. So If I use "Channel Lookup Endpoint API" for un-install channel id always it gives installed is false.

Suppose same user performs app install/reinstall and app un-install simultaneously in android device.
For every install urban airship will creating new channel id with active status.
For every un-install urban airship making channel id as InActive status.

If I check whether un-install channel id is reinstalled in X days or not by using "Channel Lookup Endpoint API" always it gives installed is false.

  • Hi Chnakaya,

The behavior you're describing is true on Android, but not iOS.

Unfortunately there is no way to continue to track the same user across an uninstall reinstall workflow on Android.
