iBeacon Support

Hi,

Can I use Urban Airship to configure triggers for pushing notifications based on proximity to an iBeacon? If yes, then what is the process to do so and do you support any iBeacon standard compatible models - like Aruba or Estimote etc?

    Hi Udatta,

    We do support iBeacon and its standard compatible models. You would need to configure the beacon to set a tag on a device when it comes within range and send an automated message based off of that tag. As an example:

    1. Set up automation campaign that triggers message based off of tag change location_a
    2. Device comes within range of beacon
    3. Beacon sets tag location_a on device
    4. Device receives message from your app
