Message Center inside UITabBarController

Hi there.

I'm integrating Message Center in UITabBarController for iOS app. I was able to integrate Message List and it works fine, but i have some  UI issues when displaying single message. When single message screen appears, there is a space under the webview. Not sure why this is happening. Also i'm wondering is it possible to remove Back button text in single message screen? Do you prefer any other development approach (custom UI with delegate backcalls)? See screenshots attached. Many thanks for your help.

  • Hi Smiljan,

Generally, for anyone wanting to customize their own Message Center, we recommend reading through our Customize Message Center for iOS guide.

You may need to still adjust some things, such as the tab bar or toolbar if you have extra space remaining beneath the message or message listing. The Tab Bar Controller does have frame sizes you can modify that should let you make the message fill the rest of the screen.

Our preferred approach for the Message Center styling would be to use our provided out-of-the-box solution as these implementations are generally supported vs. custom implementations which may not be supported by our Support staff. However, we'll do our best to guide you in the right direction!

  • Hi Michael

Tnx for your reply. What would be the best approach to have custom UI for message list and single message screens? I was able to create my own UI and bind message list to the UI... Not sure how can i display selected single messages in a new custom screen.

Thank you for you help. Best

  • Hi Smiljan,

As I mentioned in my previous comment, I would definitely read over our Customize Message Center for iOS guide.

Particularly for creating your own UI using the Message Center classes, you'll want to take a look at the Deeper Look section, as this outlines the UA SDK classes that make up the Message Center. Using those classes, you can start to create your own UI and have the Message Center content and functionality fit inside your UI.
