EU-API (go.airship.eu) not available despite TLS 1.2

Hi everybody,

Unfortunately, calling the EU-API (https://go.airship.eu) does not work, despite activated TLS 1.2 (IE on Server 2012 R2 Standard).

The US API at https://go.airship.com works.

What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks in advance

Christian

  • Christian,

Can you elaborate on the errors you are getting, what is not working?

Are you using keys from the EU dashboard? Keys generated on go.airship.com will not work with the EU endpoints.

    Thank you,

  • Hi Eric,

    thank you for the feedback.

My API request works in Postman and other browsers, like Chrome.

However, we can not call the EU API from Internet Explorer and within our applications on IIS.

It seems that the TLS ciphers are not supported by Windows Server 2012 R2:

    TLS_CHACHA20_POLY1305_SHA256
    TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384
    TLS_AES_128_GCM_SHA256
    TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_CHACHA20_POLY1305_SHA256
    TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384
    TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256

Do you have an idea how to use this API within Windows Server 2012 R2?

  • Christian,

You will need to upgrade from Windows Server 2012 if you want to use the Airship API from your server. There is no workaround to make our API work without using the new cyphers.

The only reason it works in the US is we have not fully sunset the old cyphers, but will in the next few weeks. After then the API will stop working for your server on both the EU and US.

    Thank you,
